Data Privacy Policy
At Maidenhead Town Bowls Club, we’re committed to looking after the personal information you share with us. Whether you’re a member or a visitor, we want you to feel confident that your details are safe and used properly.
What Information We Collect
We may collect personal information like:
- Your name, address, phone number and email
- Emergency contact details
- Photos or videos taken during club events
- Membership records and payment details
How We Use Your Information
We use this information to:
- Keep in touch about club news, activities and events
- Manage memberships and payments
- Organise matches, training sessions and competitions
- Look after your safety and wellbeing while you’re with us
- Share photos and results on our website, newsletters or social media (but only if you’ve agreed)
Who We Share It With
We may sometimes need to share information with:
- National or regional sports governing bodies (for memberships, competitions or safeguarding)
- Insurers (in case of accidents or incidents)
- Emergency services (if necessary)
We never sell your information and will only share what’s absolutely needed.
How We Keep It Safe
We store your information securely and only keep it for as long as we need to for club activities, legal reasons or safeguarding purposes. When we no longer need it, we’ll delete or securely dispose of it.
Your Rights
You’re in control of your personal information. Under data protection laws, you have the right to:
- Be told how we use your personal information (which is what this policy does)
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- Have any incorrect or out-of-date information corrected
- Ask us to delete your personal information (unless we need to keep it for legal reasons)
- Ask us to stop using your information in certain ways (for example, if you no longer want to receive emails about club news)
- Ask us to send your personal information to you or another organisation in a format that’s easy to use
- Object to certain uses of your data (like direct marketing — though we don’t do this)
- Question any decisions made by automated systems (though we don’t use any)
If you’d like to do any of these things, just get in touch — we’ll be happy to help.
